Abstract

Green Open Space (GOS) plays a role in maintaining the urban microclimate by controlling air temperature and humidity. This study aims to analyze the relationship between GOS availability and air temperature and humidity conditions in Palembang City. The method used was descriptive quantitative, using observations in the Bendung and Lambidaro watersheds, as well as secondary data from relevant agencies. The results show that areas with more GOS have lower temperatures and more stable humidity than densely built-up areas. Green open space vegetation helps absorb heat, increases evapotranspiration, and improves air circulation. Therefore, green open space development should be prioritized in sustainable urban planning
